Beets Nutritional Facts

Beets contain vitamin A, C, B6, potassium, magnesium and iron. They are a great source of folic acid and have a high fibre content. Betacyanin, the pigment that gives beet root its colour, is also an antioxidant. Beets contain carotenoids and flavonoids which is believed to help prevent “bad” cholesterol from being deposited in arteries. Beets also contain minerals which are important for musculo-skeletal health.
